The 4th Asia-Pacific Forum on Smart Sustainable Cities and e-Government
Mr. KIM Heon-Jun, Senior Programme Management Expert and Ms. PARK Mi Kyoung, Associate Research and Policy Analysis Expert at the United Nations Project Office on Governance (UNPOG) participated in the 4th Asia-Pacific Forum on Smart Sustainable Cities and e-Government 2018. The event was co-organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) as well as the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam (MIC) from July 4-6 2018 in Thanh Hoa City, Vietnam. The forum is an annual platform for high-level dialogues and knowledge sharing as well as networking for stakeholders amid smart city development. The forum also facilitates city-to-city cooperation and partnerships at various levels. This year, forum topics covered standards and KPIs for measuring smart city and case studies, designing a sustainable smart city and ICT architecture, and services and applications for smart cities. On the first day of the forum, Mr. Kim gave a presentation on e-Government and Smart Cities incorporating Policy Recommendations during Session 1 on Smart Sustainable Cities: Strategies and Policies. On day two, Ms. Park gave a presentation on Data Governance for Smart City Management as part of the International Practices session. Over 250 participants attended the forum, which facilitated implementations towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
