Practitioner-to-Practitioner Study Visit on “Public Administration for Sustainable Development in Island Economies”
In line with the 2018 theme of the High-Level Political Forum on "Transformation towards Sustainable and Resilient Societies" UNPOG is hosting a Study Visit focused on sharing Sri Lanka’s Island Governance perspective with Small Island Development States. Under the theme of “Equipping Public Institutions and Building Effective Partnerships,” UNPOG is working closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Sustainable Development and Wildlife of Sri Lanka to host the study visit in Colombo, Sri Lanka from June 11-15 2018. Sri Lanka will showcase its preparation for the 2018 HLPF Voluntary National Review process and its specific challenges in tackling disaster risk as an island economy. The event will also provide critical lessons for the first group of SIDS leaders that UNPOG will train as in order to develop an annual SIDS leadership training on governance for the SDGs.
