Steering Committee Meeting: Finalizing the Work Plan
Each year, UNPOG presents its activities for review to the Steering Committee, which is composed of representatives from UN DESA and the MOIS, as well as the Head of UNPOG. Head of UNPOG Mr. Chung Chae-Gun and Associate Research and Policy Development Expert Ms. Park Mi Kyoung traveled to New York for this year’s meeting, with Mr. Chung presenting UNPOG’s 2018 Work Plan. Highlights of the plan include various training courses and signature events such as the annual symposium, which drew a high level of interest and commitment from participating countries. Mr. Chung also reaffirmed UNPOG’s keen interest in not only conducting research into local governance and SDG implementation, but also making sure such work further develops into training modules for programming. Feedback from UN DESA and MOIS included commendations for UNPOG’s wide scope of work and diverse projects in such a short timeframe, and encouragement to keep building on the successes of 2017.
