Opening Ceremony of UNPOG’s Relocation to Songdo, Incheon
To celebrate UNPOG’s relocation from Seoul to Songdo, Incheon, around 150 Korean and foreign guests, including Mr. Liu Zhenmin, the Under-Secretary-General for UN DESA, Mr. Kim Boo-Kyum, Minister of the Interior and Safety(MOIS), Mr. Yoo Jeong-Bok, Mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City, Mr. Jegal Won-Young, Chairperson of the Incheon Metropolitan Council, Mr. Kim Pan-Suk, Minister of Personnel Management (MPM), and Mr. Chung Chae-Gun, Head of UNPOG, attended the opening ceremony. UN Under-Secretary-General Liu said, "I expect that UNPOG plays a more crucial role in developing training programmes and study tours on SDGs implementation, and sharing best practices of SDGs implementation in the Asia-Pacific as well as Eastern African regions." For his part, Minister Kim Boo-Kyum said that "With the cooperation with UNPOG, I look forward to having more opportunities to share Korean best practices in SDGs implementation with international communities." Also, Mayor Yoo Jeong-Bok stated "Incheon will provide necessary supports to UNPOG, so that UNPOG can settle well in Songdo and strengthen its collaboration with other international organizations."
