The 5th Regional Symposium on Effective Governance and Digital Transformation for Building Back Better and Accelerating the Implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was organized virtually from 16 to 18 November by DPIDG of UN DESA, through its Project Office on Governance (UNPOG), and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety of the Government of the Republic of Korea. This year's Symposium also commemorated the 15th Anniversary of UNPOG.More
II. Virtual Thematic Session on "Digital Transformation for the Next Normal: Toward an Inclusive and People-Centered Digital Society in the Post-COVID-19 Era" during the 2021 OGP Global Summit (16 December 2021)

On 16 December 2021, UNPOG of DPIDG/UN DESA and the ITU Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific co-organized a virtual thematic Session on "Digital Transformation for the Next Normal: Toward an Inclusive and People-Centered Digital Society in the Post-COVID-19 Era" during the 2021 OGP Global Summit. The Session aimed to discuss and share knowledge, experiences and innovative practices for promoting digital transformation for the "Next Normal" with an inclusive and people-centered approach. Particularly, the Session addressed three specific themes: i) building open, inclusive and collaborative data governance, ii) promoting digital inclusion, and iii) fostering Public-Private-People Partnerships (PPPP).More
III. Inter-Ministerial Policy Workshop on Implementing the One-Door-Service Centers (ODSCs) in Lao (23 November 2021)

The "Inter-ministerial Policy Workshop on Implementing the ODSCs", was held on 23 November via Zoom as a follow-up to the "Inter-ministerial Technical Workshop on Implementing the ODSCs", organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA), Lao PDR, in partnership with DPIDG with the support of UNPOG and in collaboration with the UN Resident Coordinator's Office in Lao PDR and UNDP Lao PDR.More

DPIDG/UNPOG participated in the UN ESCAP Executive Training on Environment and Development held virtually from 29 November to 2 December 2021. During the Opening Session, one UNPOG staff delivered an intervention on the importance of changing mindsets for effective policymaking.More
VII. Capacity Development Webinar on Strengthening Capacities, Mindsets and Competencies of Public Institutions to Build the Next Generation of Public Servants in the Arab Region (29 November 2021)

On 29 November 2021, DPIDG/UNPOG participated in the Webinar to launch the Curriculum on Governance for the Sustainable Development Goals in the Arab region. The Head of UNPOG provided an overview of UNPOG's contribution to the development of the Curriculum and pilot implementation of selected Training Toolkits. Three UNPOG staff members delivered short presentations to promote the three Training Toolkits.More
