Navigating the Future of AI and Effective Governance at the 8th Regional Symposium

Incheon, Republic of Korea – The United Nations Project Office on Governance (UNPOG) under the Division of Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS) of the Government of the Republic of Korea and Incheon Metropolitan City, is excited to host the 8th Regional Symposium on Effective Governance at Incheon, Republic of Korea on 30 October to 1 November 2024.
This year’s Symposium is under the theme “Effective Governance and AI Transformation for the 2030 Agenda: Fostering Transformative Actions for Innovating Public Services” and focuses on the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in public governance. It will examine how AI can enhance service delivery, improve efficiency, and build resilience in public sectors worldwide.
The 8th Regional Symposium is built on the outcomes of the SDG Summit 2023 and the United Nations Public Service Forum 2024. It seeks to underscore the critical intersection of effective governance and technological innovation and aims to provide new methodologies and strategies for UN Member States, ensuring they are equipped to meet the challenges of the future.
The annual event will bring together thought leaders, policymakers, and experts from the Asia-Pacific region and beyond to address critical public governance issues and explore innovative solutions for achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The participants will also be engaged in high-level discussions and thematic sessions centred around key areas of innovation and governance.
