Participation in the Fifth Asia-Pacific Directors General Forum for South-South and Triangular Cooperation and North-East Asia Development Cooperation Forum 2023 (27 - 28 November 2023, Bangkok, Thailand)

At the invitation of UN ESCAP Subregional Office for East and North-East Asia, DPIDG/UNPOG staff participated in the Fifth Asia-Pacific Directors General Forum for South-South and Triangular Cooperation held from 27 to 28 November and the North-East Asia Development Cooperation Forum 2023 held on 27 November. The primary objective of UNPOG’s participation in these two events was to conduct bilateral meetings with the representatives of UNPOG target member countries for expanding partnerships to support local governments on SDG localisation. During these two events, UNPOG conducted a series of bilateral meetings with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), UN Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), Papua New Guinea High Commission, UN ESCAP, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), and HelpAge International to explore possible areas for cooperation, including conducting capacity development activities and joint research for strengthening local governance and fostering SDG localisation to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
