DPIDG/UNPOG staff virtually attended the 28th Meeting of the Asia Pacific Interagency Working Group (IAWG) on ICT, which serves as an Asia Pacific regional platform for sharing knowledge, good practices and programmes of partner organisations for enhancing the impact of ICT development in the region. Despite a wealth of knowledge and infromation being accumulated in different organisations, there is limited sharing, resulting in duplicated efforts.
The meeting focused on areas of common interest and potential cooperation. It co-organised by UN ESCAP, International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT). During the meeting, the staff introduced the strategies and planned activities of UNPOG in 2024 on digital government and digital transformation. Representatives from several UN agencies including ICAO, UNCDF, UN Women, UNU-Macao, WFP also attended the meeting.
