DPIDG/UNPOG was invited by the National Disaster Reduction Center of China (NDRCC), Ministry of Emergency Management as a resource person for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Workshop on Risk-smart Business for SMEs in the Post COVID-19. The Workshop was organized by APEC Emergency Preparedness Working Group (EPWG) of China. The Workshop brought together representatives from government authorities, the private sector, technical agencies, local communities, academia, and universities to join the panel discussion on Risk-informed Decision-making Towards Resilience. The event aimed to provide a unique platform and opportunity for participants to discuss about risk-informed decision-making at the government level to support SMEs build resilience against future risks and promote their sustainability in the post-pandemic era. It was an opportunity for DPIDG/UNPOG to share key messages from UN DESA Policy brief 139, Strengthening Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience for Climate Action through Risk-informed Governance and toolkit on Risk-informed Governance and Innovative Technology for Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience.
