Participation on Changing Mindsets in Mongolia's Business Leadership Programme (18 July 2023, Virtual)

On 18 July 2023, a DPIDG/UNPOG virtually attended the Executive Programme of the National Academy of Governance in Mongolia and introduced the Toolkit on Changing Mindsets in Public Institutions to Implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The programme, entitled "Success is a Choice - Leadership Pathway," targeted selected young engineers and mid-level managers employed by “Erdenes Mongol” and its branch companies, and aimed to develop mid-level managers as future leaders of the mining company, enabling their active participation in Mongolia's commitment to achieve the SDGs by 2030.
To foster leadership transformation, the Session focused on sharing new behaviours and competencies, and discussed them through group activities. Participants were encouraged to embrace a growth mindset and adopt innovative approaches to problem-solving. The participants were also equipped with tools and techniques to enhance their creativity skills, collaboration abilities and coping with failure. The programme emphasised the importance of ethical leadership and sustainability practices in line with the SDGs and concluded with the development of an action plan at both individual and organisational levels.
