Study Visit by a Middle School Student Group from Incheon Bukbu Office of Education (28 July 2023, Incheon, Republic of Korea)

On 28 July 2023, DPIDG/UNPOG received a Study Visit by a student group of 50 middle school students from Incheon Bukbu Office on Education’s Annual Summer Camp Programme. During the Study Visit, UNPOG staff introduced: i) the Principles of Effective Governance for Sustainable Development, ii) UNPOG/DPIDG’s Mandate and Programme Activities, and the iii) UN DESA Curriculum on Governance for the SDGs.
The Study Visit was coordinated by UN ESCAP East and North-East Asia Office and provided a good opportunity to promote DPIDG/UNPOG’s internship programme, the 7th Youth Forum on SDG Implementation, and the 7th Regional Symposium on Effective Governance and Digital Transformation for Accelerating Progress towards the 2030 Agenda. The Study Visit helped the students develop a good understanding on the importance of building effective, inclusive and accountable public institutions for SDG implementation as well as UN DESA’s initiatives to support Member States in promoting effective governance for sustainable develpoment.
