Preparatory Meeting for the Upcoming Leadership Workshop on Strategic Foresight and AI Nexus for Advancing Anticipatory Governance and Policy Innovation in the Philippines (27 October 2025, Virtual)

UNPOG/DPIDG led a virtual meeting with the UN RCO in the Philippines, EROPA (an UNPAN member), and the Local Government Academy (LGA) to prepare for the Leadership Workshop on Strategic Foresight and AI Nexus for Advancing Anticipatory Governance and Policy Innovation in the Philippines, scheduled for 19–20 November 2025. The workshop, requested by LGA and EROPA, follows up on the UN DESA 9th Regional Symposium on Effective Governance and AI Transformation. It aims to strengthen institutional capacities in applying strategic foresight to anticipate the impacts of AI and promote its responsible use, advance anticipatory governance, and foster a culture of policy innovation within the public sector. The initiative draws on the outcomes of the Summit of the Future and is guided by the 11 Principles for Effective Governance for Sustainable Development. It will contribute to the ongoing efforts of the United Nations in the Philippines and align with national priorities outlined in the updated Philippine Development Plan 2023–2028.
