First Global Workshop for 2025 Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs): Supporting Evidence-based VNRs (3 - 5 December 2024, Incheon, the Republic of Korea)

DPIDG/UNPOG collaborated with DSDG on the First Global Workshop for 2025 VNRs by facilitating a session on Institutional Frameworks for the 2030 Agenda, with a focus on National Coordination Mechanisms. Discussions highlighted challenges and opportunities in policy integration, incorporating SDGs into National Development Plans, conducting evaluations through independent supreme audit institutions, engaging parliamentarians in SDG reviews, and leveraging digital platforms for VNR communication. The session also fostered knowledge exchange as countries shared insights into their institutional arrangements to build strong institutions (SDG 16) and strategies for mobilizing a whole-of-government approach. The workshop brought together 78 government representatives from 39 UN Member States.
